Aspira wants to be the very first to welcome Amazon, Russell Investments and Facebook to the City by throwing them a celebration party in our luxurious 36th floor penthouses on September 16th. Guest Chef Brian O’Connor from blueacre seafood will demo one of his delicious creations. This will be quite the event. Come and enjoy amazing people, breath taking views, and live entertainment all from our stunning 36th floor penthouses.

Sizzling South Lake Union Block Party

Aspira graced their presents at South Lake Union Block party on August 13th. Amazing weather, delicious food and tons of freebies from local businesses equaled the best way to spend our afternoon on a scorching hot Friday! This party catered to everyone from activities and face painting for the children to the Pyramid breweries beer garden/ Seattle Magazine Wine tasting for adults. Aspira is minutes away from marvelous restaurants like Flying Fish, re:public, 13 Coins, Bucca di Beppo, Tom Douglas Restaurants and many more. For $1 per tasting we tried a variety of foods, gathering all the restaurant information to offer our residents in the new Aspira concierge book. Proceeds from this South Lake Union block party went to benefiting Historic Seattle and preserving Seattle and King County’s architectural legacy. Young local charity Circle of Hope is hosting their first annual fundraiser at Aspira – this Saturday, July 17!

Here at Aspira we are enjoying the exciting honor of being the venue for the first ever charity gala from Circle of Hope, a young and ambitious non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial support to Seattle Children’s Hospital. The party preparations are well underway and it’s definitely shaping up to be quite the occasion! Guests can look forward to an evening of live music, sumptuous appetizers and desserts, wine from acclaimed Washington wineries Cuillin Hills and Barrage Cellars, and a silent auction packed with fabulous items with all proceeds benefitting uncompensated care for Seattle Children’s Hospital.
Tickets are just $50 each and there is still some availability, please contact Kym Hoke at kymh@circleofhopeguild.org to make your arrangements. Much of the Aspira team is coming out to support this unprecedented fundraising effort on the part of Circle of Hope and we would love to see you all there as well. Aspira is officially Four Star Green Certified, the first of our kind to enjoy the honor in Downtown Seattle

Last Thursday was an exciting day here at Aspira! The Aspira team and residents were treated to a commemorative ceremony in honor of Built Green awarding our property it’s coveted Four Star Environmental Certification. King County Executive Dow Constantine bestowed the award in person on the Aspira Courtyard Terrace to the Aspira development team from Keller CMS Inc. in front of local notables, community partners and media.

Aspira is the first and only residential high-rise building in Seattle to achieve this exciting status. Property Manager Patrick Merritt explained to the assembled crowd how the consideration towards environmentally friendly choices was at the forefront of the concept throughout the entire planning and construction process. It was extremely gratifying to see the months and months of dedication on the part of the involved parties acknowledged with such an unprecedented achievement.

After the ceremony on the terrace, the crowd moved through to the parking garage to watch King County Executive Dow Constantine be one of the first to plug into the electric car recharging stations, located on the second level of the parking garage. Among the numerous other eco-conscious touches that you will find throughout the property that helped us reach the Four Star status are motion sensors for lights in all sporadically-trafficked rooms, walkways and hallways; optimally efficient heating and air conditioning units; and low flow fixtures.

The dining experience at BlueAcre Seafood located on the corner of Olive and 7th was amazing. We walked there from Aspira Apartments in Seattle, just a couple of blocks away, to enjoy fresh greens with salmon! Most delicious! I would recommend you trying this restaurant soon. April 18-29, more than 100 participating Seattle restaurants will offer three-course dinners for $25 Sundays through Thursdays. Some will also add a $15 three-course lunch. For more info on where these restaurants are in location to Aspira click here.

Aspira helps save Lake Union 4th of July Fireworks!!

Many of you probably heard the news yesterday that One Reel Production
was unable to find a major sponsor for the 4th of July fireworks on Lake
Union this summer and the event was going to be cancelled. KIRO morning
host Dave Ross and local Chef, Tom Douglas started a pledge drive to see
if local businesses would step up to support the event. As the day went
by, Tom Douglas was able to secure challenge grants of $125K each from
Microsoft and Starbucks if other local organizations would pledge the
remaining $250K needed to host the event.

Last night, Aspira Apartment pledged $5,000 to support this cherished
local event. This places Aspira apartments within the top 5 challenge
donors and top ten donors to the overall effort.

With the spectacular view of the fireworks from the building, the owners
decided that this celebration will become one of the most celebrated
annual events for our residents and we needed to support it. So mark
your calendars now for the big 4th of July Celebration!

Spring into Spring

This Friday, March 19th, at Pike Place Market, the Market will be giving out 12,000 free dafodils (individually) to people who visit the market around lunch time. The specific time wasn’t specified but I’m guessing is around 12:00pm. The Pike Place Market is just a few blocks or a short taxi cab ride in the rain, from Aspira.

The annual event — dubbed Daffodil Day — is now in its 13th year.
